Old Dog, New Tricks
It’s funny how, as I get older, I still love learning and trying new things—both in my business and personal life. For example, with my business, I sometimes drive my website designer, Travis, a little crazy. I manage our website and always have a bunch of questions. Sometimes, I even break things! But he’s a good sport about it. He jokes, “Come on, Bryan, you’re not that old,” and then adds, “You’re better at this than most people my age.” “Thanks, Travis… I think.”

On a personal level, I need to slow down and enjoy life more. I love my family and friends and appreciate all the good times—past, present, and future. Even the tough times have value because they teach us important lessons, shaping us into the people we want to become.
A few weeks ago, I attended the Greater Palm Bay Chamber’s multicultural event, hosted by a Toastmasters group. We split into small groups for two-minute improv discussions. When my turn came, I picked a card that asked: As a child, what did I want to be when I grew up? That was an easy one! If you know me, you know I never really plan on growing up. So, I had some fun with my answer and let my friends at the table learn a little more about me.
I told them that I had wanted to be a helicopter pilot—but here’s the funny part: I’m afraid of heights! Especially glass elevators. So, you’d think I’d stay far away from sitting in a small helicopter with nothing to hold onto. Still, I’ve flown in a helicopter a few times, always with sweaty hands! The last time was with a friend as we flew over the Lake Wales area to look at some land. Honestly, I don’t regret not becoming a pilot—after all, if I had, who would be writing these publisher’s notes every month? Now, even you know a little more about me!
Life is all about pushing past our fears and stepping out of our comfort zones. When we do, we discover just how many amazing things are out there waiting for us.
In conclusion, while the Easter Bunny is cherished by many, let’s remember that the true meaning of Easter is Jesus—His sacrifice and resurrection for our salvation.
Until next month, Bryan
